A Rewiew of My Dog

We were lucky enough to receive an advanced copy of an upcoming book, My Dog by Oliva Wakeford. My Dog is a children’s and teen book published by Harper Collins. Rather than you taking our word for how good the book is, we asked one of our younger customers, Isabella, to read and review the book for us. Read below to see what Isabella thought of the book.

My Dog by Olivia Wakeford

I loved every part of reading this book from the very beginning right till the last sentence. I will 100% be adding it to my list of favourites and I will be recommending it to many others. To be honest, I wish I could read it all again without knowing what comes next.

The story itself is about a little boy called Rhys who lives with his Mam in Cardiff. When his Mam falls ill he goes to visit her in the hospital and notices a big black labrador with conker eyes and velvety ears. I think it's a great way to represent how the main character Rhys is feeling after everything that has happened to him. It’s such a moving story about a boy and his dog and the adventures of real life that they go on while Rhys experiences some tricky times. The author, Olivia Wakeford, has a huge passion for dogs. She was born in Wales but now lives in London which explains the setting of this story.

I can’t say enough how much I loved this book and can't wait for more to come from Olivia. I would happily read many more from this author so fingers crossed! I would like to thank the Imaginarium for giving me the chance to read an advance copy of this, I feel so privileged! Thank you!
