Fourth Wing Book Hangover Recommendations

If you’re like me and have a serious book hangover after reading Fourth Wing then here are some books that might take your mind off the long wait until the second book arrives in November!

  1. Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas - a fantasy romance which focuses more on the plot than the romance, we follow Celeana Sardothien, Ardalans most infamous assassin as she fights for her freedom in a deadly competition to become the King’s Champion but something is killing off the champions before the competitions and Celeana’s fight for freedom has now become a fight for survival. A brilliant series spanning eight books, it is a fully completed series so no waiting needed for the next book!

  2. Nevernight by Jay Kristoff - a dark and gritty fantasy. Mia Corvere loses everything she loves at ten years old. She is raised in shadows and destined to destroy empires, Mia makes a promise to avenge herself on those that shattered her world but to do that she must become a weapon without equal so before she seeks her revenge, she must seek training from the assassins of the Red Church of Itreya. A three book completed trilogy, this is a series you will want to delve into, Mia’s story and character is heartbreaking and gripping, she can’t quite seem to catch a break.

  3. The Cruel Prince by Holly Black - an enemies to lovers fantasy that follows Jude, who was taken with her sisters to the world of Faerie after witnessing their parents be murdered. Jude is tormented by the Fey for being mortal and she realises that to survive, she needs to be as and deceitful as the Fey are. But the way to power is full of shadows and betrayal and in the midst is the arrogant and charismatic Prince Cardan. A love to hate completed trilogy, this is definitely one of my favourites and a spin off series has just started, the first book being The Stolen Heir.

  4. The Kiss of Deception by Mary E Pearson - On the morning of her wedding Lia, the First Daughter, flees. Starting a new life in a distant village and becomes hopeful about the life she has chosen until two mysterious strangers arrive in town, unaware that one was sent to kill her and one was the prince she was betrothed to. Deception surrounds her and Lia finds herself on the brink of discoverign perilous secrets that may unravel her world, even as she begins to fall in love. A completed trilogy with a spin off duology that is also completed.

  5. One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig - Elspeth Spindle needs a monster to stay safe in the eerie kingdom of Blunder, she calls him the Nightmare. An ancient spirit trapped in her head, he protects her, he keeps her secrets. But magic is never free. Elspeth is thrown into a world of shadow and deception when she meets a mysterious highwayman. Together they search for a cure to save the town of Blunder from the dark magic that is infecting it. The stakes heighten and Elspeth is forced to face her biggest and darkest secret - the Nightmare is slowly taking over her mind and she might not have what it takes to stop him…the first book in a duology, with the second book coming out in October.
